This post is about Ontario doctors.

Your brain is one of the most important organs of your body. It is responsible in most of the motor movements and sensations that your body performs and feels. If you have any problem with your nerves that is usually felt as muscle weakness and extreme pain, you have to consult your doctor.

The Ontario doctors that specialize in handling health conditions of the nervous system are called neurologists. They are capable of diagnosing and providing treatment regimens for the disorders of your brain, nerves, spinal cord as well as your muscles. They perform scans such as Computed Axial Tomography, Electromyography or Nerve Conduction Velocity and lumbar puncture in order to correctly diagnose your condition.

Before you could be a licensed neurologist, you should take a premedical education for four years. After graduating, you still have to study in a medical school for four years so that you can have your Doctor of Medicine degree. Once you are done with your college education, you can become an intern in an internal medicine area of a hospital. To become more experienced, you should undergo a minimum of three years training in specializing in neurology in a hospital under an accredited residency program.
